What would you if your teenage daughter told you she was pregnant? What would you say once you heard 89 others at her high school were in the same situation? Well this is defiantly the case for 90 teenage girls at a Memphis High School. Back in 2004 teen pregnancy was on the rise at this local high school. So why is it that only 6 years later 11% of the student body reports to being pregnant. The school ultimately created a campaign to address the issue but that proved to be ineffective. It didn't help that the school provided little sex education to the students.
This situation is really shocking and out of control. Why do so many young girls think that it is cute to be pregnant. Honestly, there is nothing cute about a baby having babies. A lot of the time these young girls barely know how to take care of themselves let alone some one else. Or why do some girls believe that if they get pregnant it will help keep a boyfriend or crush. Most of the time teen girls tend to believe that having a baby will help them hang on to a boyfriend. The problem with that is at the end of the day a guy will be a guy, baby or no baby. And then the girl is often stuck caring for herself and a child.
Oh but lets not forget about the parents. The question at hand is what role did the parents play in helping to prevent these pregnancies? Aren't parents supposed to inform their kids about sex, STDs and pregnancy? I don't understand why many parents either leave it up to the schools to teach or are ashamed to talk about it. I mean how did they have children in the first place? Either way at the end of the day, I believe that if parents informed their kids more and the school had better prevention methods then less than 90 teenage girls would be pregnant at this given moment.

New York's Finest
My best friend, who I'm going to call Brooklyn, is the love of my life. Though it is sometimes weird to tell people that my best friend is a guy, he is ultimately the only one I can trust. No matter what I do or how I act I know that he is and will always be there for me. I know that some may say that a girl and a guy could never work as friends but Brooklyn and I have been friends for years. Although we are totally different it seems like we are the same person.If I had to describe Brooklyn, I wouldn't even know where to begin.
Brooklyn is a laid back, drama free, loving person. He is the type of person who tries to avoid confrontations and ignorant people. He is the person that if he saw a homeless person he would give them his shirt off his back and try to help them by any means necessary. However, if you were to piss him off he would make sure he made your life a living hell.

This Snow Must Go!!!!!
This winter has indeed been one of the worse. It seems like once we get rid of the freezing temperatures, its gets to be about 40 degrees, then it snows. I don't know if anyone has realized it but it seems like we've had a snow storm every Wednesday. An considering it's Wednesday you guessed it, it's snowing.This to me seems like a 2011 remake of Groundhog Day. I don't know why it happens this way but I think it has become a big pain in the butt. Why is it that once the winter comes some people become very excited? I don 't understand whats so exciting about freezing cold weather, hell I don't understand whats so exciting about it being excessively hot either. The thing that gets me with the winter is the snow. Now don't get me wrong, snow when you're a child is the best part of the winter season. Not only are you permitted snow days from school but you get to go out and play in it. The problem with snow as a adult is that there are no snow days and you have to clean up the mess or you'll be fined ( or at least in my neighborhood you will).
These snow storms have become so annoying that I am to the point where I am ready to move. It is just ridiculous how bad this snow is getting. As I sit here tonight and watch the news I am shocked, not only is it snowing outside but it is thunder snowing. Seriously, just when you thought it couldn't get any worse mother nature finds a way to prove us wrong. I think that at the rate we're going there will still be snow around in March. Hopefully February will be a better month but then again if it's thunder snowing now who the heck knows what February holds.

Cutting in the city
Last week a West Philadelphia abortion doctor was charged with the death of 7 babies and a woman. Prosecutors believe that Dr. Kermit Gosnell made millons of dollars over the past 30 years performing illegal and dangerous abortions. It has also been mentioned that his clinic had no trained medical staff or nurses and that he had an 16 yr old girl as a staff member.
The thing that pisses me off with this situation is how this "doctor" could be so stupid and ignorant to his patients."His actions and inactions were outrageous and reckless that he shouldve been prosecuted. And the fact that there were others who knew what was going on just irritates the hell out of me. If this doctor wasn't genuine enough to follow proper procedure and protocol why the hell couldn't one of his employees say something. It is disguisting how it took so long and so many reports before this man was caught by authorities.
Furthermore, Pennsylvania Law sats that abortions after 24 weeks or 6 months are illegal. This man was performing "late term" abortions during the 6th, 7th and 8th month of pregnancy. In addition, it was mentioned that he forced his patients to give live birth to the babies and then killed them by cutting into the neck with scissors and severing their spinal cord.
Anytime a person can sit there and brutally murder a newborn or another person they should not only rot in hell but they should be commited. Who the hell does this guy think he is to do such horrific things to people and smile like nothing ever happened. This guy is the scum of the earth. He should've never been givin a license to practice medicine.
Early last year authorities raided Gosnell's clinic in search of drug violations and found what looked to be a "house of horrors". Authorities say that there were bags and bottles holding aborted fetuses, the place reeked of cat urine, furniture and blankets were stained with blood, instruments were not properly sterilized, and disposable medical supplies were used over and over.
How can the patients of this place not realize once they entered the clinic that something was terribly wrong. Are the patients just as stupid as the doctor? If I was going to any doctors for just a check up I would want to make sure that it is clean and sanitary. I just don't understand how all of these factors could've been unreported and ignored for over 3 decades. It is disguisting to believe that someone could do something so vile to women and children.
